From an early age, Ari Myrtaj was entertaining the people around him. He was born in Prishtina, Kosova where his parents, siblings, and friends knew him as the “one who talks a lot,” and the entertainer. Ari was always drawn to acting, though he wasn’t sure if he could make a living as an artist because of the political and social turmoil surrounding Kosova during his youth.
At the age of 17, Ari moved to Mississippi as an exchange student, where he completed his high school degree and studied American history and culture. He also lived in Florida for eight months and was torn between returning to his homeland or staying in the U.S. where he felt the call to perform.
In 2002, Ari made the decision to move to New York City to pursue acting. Though he misses Kosova a great deal, he believes that his experiences from his homeland directly affect his acting abilities and artistic endeavors.
Ari has starred in a variety of plays and films, including "Important Things with Demetry Martin" as Son, "My Destiny" as Martin, "Petition" as Vidal, "Hydrogen" as the Spy, "The P.A.R.C." as David Bravanti etc. He has done numerous television commercials including the nationally aired “Virgin Mobile” ad and recently the MTS commercial. Ari takes acting classes at HB Studios, and is always in pursuit of challenging and interesting roles.
